Welcome To My Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog. I would like to tell you a little about myself and my history within the Driving Instructor Training industry, which I believe is vital when choosing a trainer.
My name is Dave Lewis and I have been an ADI ( Approved Driving Instructor ) since 1998, when I started work with BSM at their flagship Manchester office.Having spent 2 years establishing my self as an ADI with an exemplary record and reputation I was very quickly seconded to assist with the training of instructors at BSM's training centre in Leeds.
During this period I gained my ORDIT qualification ( Official Register Of Driving Instructor Training ).
ORDIT is an official observation of my training conducted by the DSA ( Driving Standards Agency ) , our industry's governing body, every 2 years, to ensure that the training I deliver meets their very high standards. I have held this qualification from the year 2000 through to the present date. During this time I quickly established a reputation as an effective trainer, covering a large area, including Leeds,Manchester Wigan and Bolton.
In 2003 BSM established a training centre in Bolton and I was transferred there from Leeds. I continued to develop myself as a very capable trainer, consistently achieving pass rates far above the industry average.
In 2005 a Quality Assurance Department was established in order to monitor and develop the abilities of BSM's qualified instructors. During this time I worked hard to develop and improve the abilities, businesses and pass rates of a high number of ADI'S. I also became involved in the delivery of Check Test Development Training, ( a check test is a regular assessment of an instructors ability conducted by the DSA ), to help ADI's gain as high a grade as possible.
In 2007 I returned to the Instructor Training arm of the business again consistently achieving high pass rates in the ADI qualifying exams.
Since 2001 I have also been a Fleet Registered Instructor, allowing me to assess and develop the driving of Britain's qualified drivers.
I am also an established assessor for the NVQ in Driving Instruction and hold a BTEC Diploma in Driving Instruction. I am also registered with the DSA as an assessor and examiner for the RAC Advanced Driving Test.
Having been made redundant as an employed trainer in December 2008 I have now reverted to self employed status. Although still working as a franchisee with BSM I see this as the ideal opportunity to develop my own business as a driving instructor trainer.
I want to use my knowledge and experience of the industry to help you to qualify as an ADI and then to help you to develop into the "Best You Can Be".
My reputation as a highly experience trainer is well known throughout the North West.
My aim is to help you achieve your goal by using some tried and tested methods as well as some techniques established by myself.
I firmly believe that when choosing a trainer it is important to know a little about the background of the person that you choose and I hope that this has given you a brief insight into my experience in the Driving Instructor Training Industry.
